Adult Staff Qualifications

Adult Staff Qualifications

The CVQO has been accredited by Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), Edexcel and City & Guilds in order to deliver six National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) to adults who are involved with the cadets. To make life simpler, CVQO have mapped the majority of the tri-service military courses on offer to adults, across to meet the criteria that each awarding body sets. This mapping generally means that an individual candidate has already achieved approx 75% of their qualification, simply by attending a given course. The remaining percentage is achieved through the candidate compiling a portfolio of evidence or completing project work on a given topic, in their own time.

The two course currently mapped across to ATC Staff are:

Licentiateship in Youth Leadership &Training (City & Guilds Level 4)

You must have:
- Been an OC Squadron or Squadron Warrant Officer for at least 5 years
- Attended Officers Initial Course, Senior Officers Course & where applicable the NCO Staff Initial Course
Further to this you then need to complete a reflective report.

Graduateship in Youth Management & Training (City & Guilds Level 5)
- Been a Wing Staff Officer for at least 1 year
- Attended the 2 Officers courses at RAF Cranwell
Further to this you then need to complete either a portfolio or a 10,000 word thesis dependant upon your academic background.

To ask any questions or learn more about these qualifications, contact the Wing Training Officer or visit the CVQO website.
